How to read these numbers

Raw is the card ungraded, in your hand — priced down the ladder from Near Mint through Lightly, Moderately and Heavily Played. These are roughly what the card sells for between collectors right now. They are not what a shop pays, and not what you would get on a marketplace after fees and postage. Where your card sits on that ladder is a judgement made looking at it: centring, edge whitening and surface are in no dataset.

What we would pay is a genuine starting point: 60% of market in cash, or 75% in store credit. Credit is worth more because it comes back over our counter. Both are subject to seeing the card — centring, surface and edges are not in any dataset, and they move the number a long way.

Graded 10 is that card already slabbed at a perfect grade, listed per grader — PSA, BGS, CGC, ACE — because they are not interchangeable and the market pays differently for each. Tens only: a 9 varies far too much by grader and eye appeal to put one number on. Do not read a 10 as what your raw card is worth — getting there costs a submission fee, takes months, and most cards sent off do not come back a 10. We wrote up the maths.
